OK I dont have the motor in front of me at the moment so forgive me for my mistakes. But if im understanding this all correctly I first push the rubber oil seal in then with a small socket press the mechanical seal in? Right? What Is that little metal cap looking thing with the spring? Where does that go? Parts kind of jumped off when I took the rear case off.

Also, for the shifter seal, do I just simply pry that out with a screwdriver or something and pop the new one in? I dont know if you guys remember me from CC but I'm the one with the shot rod berrings and doing the GL to CX swap.

unless the metal cup is damaged you don't need to take it out and replace it.They are rarely damaged.
