CX500 GL500 650 Global

new on this forum. Like the search function.
Question-- I'm into a triple by-pass and need to know how far do I press the rear camshaft oil seal in. Don't want to cover the weep hole obviously but is it flush with the casing or in just far enough not to cover the hole??
Is either ok as long as it is in well??

Thanks Shep. I'm talking about the oil seal in back of the mech seal. I'm pressing it in from the inner side of the rear casing.

The mech seal is in fine. There doesn't appear to be a lip stopping me pressing the oil seal in. Is it ok just flush or slightly below the level of the casing?? I know I must not cover the weep hole.

You push it in as far as it will go with your fingers.It cannot cover the weep hole unless there's something different about a 650,which I doubt.

All good.I was worried about pushing it in too far and not being able to get it out without ripping. It's a petty tight fit. Appreciate the advice.

You can usually get them out without damage using a small blunt screwdriver and carefully prising them so no worries there.A little bit of washing up liquid helps them go in and they will still seal perfectly.I've done quite a few on my engine re-builds
