CX500 GL500 650 Global

I have a 1983 CX650 eurosport with a gas/petrol tank that has rusted through on its bottom rear corner under the seat, Replacement late tanks are very hard to find so i was wondering if the mounting points are the same as early CX500's with the older style tank??

I plan to change the bike into a cafe racer style project (change seat and side panels etc) so I'm not worried about anything other than how it bolts to the frame

I have loads of spares.

I got a standard tank tonight and it fits the mounting points ok, it just needed the rubber bungs packing out slightly with a couple of washers over the frame "pegs" they sit on because the front of the tunnel under the tank is slightly wider, the distance front to back is exactly the same

Cool.Old Handle bar grips can be really useful chopped up to make rubber pads for little jobs like this.

Very good and a little wider in diameter than stock so better for anti-vibration and a solid feel.
