The thing is that these bikes are over 25+ years old and many of them will not have been serviced properly in many a year.The advantage of these bikes is that 99% of the work on them can be done by a home mechanic as there's not modern,"Black Box" technology and Honda made a very well over-engineered power plant which was a radical design of it''s time.
I'm sure that Honda learnt many things from the CX/GL generation that they took forward on their later forward facing V-twins.
When these bikes are put back to a decent service level they are an absolute joy to ride and give an economy way ahead of some of the bikes in similar classes today.OK they weren't made as a sports bike and very flashy but they are perfect for their remit.There's something quite Zen-like being albe to go from 25 mph in 5th gear right up to 70/80/90 mph when I feel like it
