That's the same as I have on mine - just cut the pipe and slipped the filter in.

Same thing here. Cut down the second nipples and use the bigger ones then throw it in the middle of the hose. It's bigger but it catches more crap and if there is a chance that it fills up before you change it there is enough room for the gas to flow around.

Ok, thanks for pics, they tell the story...this is a GL model thing....I've seen that type and NO way are those suckers gonna fit - too long. But as LRCXed, mentions, a 90 degree job should fit nicely, I've only seen them in the sissy size for lawnmowers and such. I will check your links and at the dealer. Thanks for the ideas!

BTW, are the CX petcocks the sissy size too - 1/4" or something? And what's with the rivets on the petcock flange? Is this not meant to be rebuildable?

I have never had good luck with the small red ones. I don't know if it's due to size or the metal screen inside but I wouldn't use them. I still have one in my bike bag but only for extreme emergencies. I have another bigger on in there too.

Unfortunately I have never seen a GL. So you are going to have to do the best you can with the suggestions every one has givin you. Let us know what you come up with, and what works the best for you OK!
