Didn't have to flip the reserve switch until I got back into my City at 162 miles on the clock.Averaged 59 MPG

Good MPG too. How much more fuel does the UK gallon have over the USA gallon?

A US liquid gallon is 3.785411784 litres.

A UK gallon is
1 Imperial gallon = 4.54609188 litres

1 US gallon = 0.83267384 Imperial gallons

I just checked my figures again as I got the 4.5 the wrong way round e.g 4.45 so it was as good as dammit 60 mpg again

Lot's of 70+ riding as well up and down some great coastal hills we have up that way with lots of twisties

Bike is still using a lot of oil tho'.Damn valve stem guides I reckon.Doesn't burn any or leak.Running on 20w50 which has cut it down a bit plus the engine is protected by Molyslip(Molybdenum Di-Sulphide additive).At $10 a gallon of cheap oil from Asda(Owned by Walmart over here) I can live with it until I can afford the money on doing a couple of proper head services if I feel that way.

Mmmm, whitby fish and chips, and the road past fylingdales. 162 to reserve for a std CX is darned good, when mine was on the road I got around 145 - the 650 Euro is more than 200, which is larger than my bladder and need for tea.

I was looking at the gold triumph as well. Sounds like a good ride. Wish it didn't rain all day here. All I got was a trip to the gas station then the store and back home about 10 miles.

That triumph gets me thinking about how it's my girlfriends dads dream bike. I was over at his place last weekend about 300 miles away and we were talking bikes and he is thinking about getting back to riding but I'm not sure if it's just a wish. I know he has the money for the bike but I think he's scared.

He use to ride every day rain or shine because when my girlfriend was a kid her mom needed to use the car so he rode the bike 40 miles to work and another 40 back till one winter day the milk truck in front of him decided to try to get through a yellow light then came to it's senses and stopped real quick. it was icy out and the bike smashed into the back of the truck bending the forks 40 degrees out of wack and killing the front tire. From what I gather besides getting flung into the back of the truck door at 25 miles per hour he was ok but hasn't driven more than a few miles on a bike since then.

His bike is still in pretty decent condition except I don't know what's up with older riders. When they get an accident and decide to hang it up they take the bike apart. I think it is in atleast 3 boxes just waiting to be put back together.

I actually emailed them a couple of years ago to tell them that it has no affect on my wet clutches.I would not expect it too either because molybdenum disulphide only adheres to metal so it leaves the Clutch material alone.Mo2 is used wet and dry as an indutrial lubricant in motors/engines/generators that run 24/7 because of it's unique properties,

I also use it when fitting big-end shells and cam shafts as it's better than plain engine oil on the 1st fire-up.The 1st few seconds of firing up a new engine build are paramount to the correct running of the engine until the oil goes round the system,
