CX500 GL500 650 Global

I took my carb intake boots, the ones from the carb to the airbox off. In putting them back on, I noticed that the airbox side is different on each. One has a short side that connects to the airbox and the boot doesn't go into the airbox, and the other has a longer next that extends into the airbox about an inch. I went on bikebandit and checked the schematic, but could not see which was which. Perhaps one is not original? In any event, does anyone know which is left and which is right, or know anything about this?

I know you shouldn't have taken them out<grin>.They are a PITA to get back in

They are,"Handed" e.g left and right are different and should be marked with an L and R on them.

Get a hair-dryer and some soapy water and a flat blade screwdriver and prise them back in so only the thin lip shows and they sit in the groove they are meant to and don't EVER take them out again<BFG>

I now know it too! Geez they were a witch (with a capital "B") to get back in! I thought I needed to get them out to take the carbs out. When putting them back in, I saw, red-faced, the L and the R. For those who are following, the longer one is the Right boot.

Been there done that. It only takes that mistake once to learn how to do it the right way. First time I took off my carbs I did it too.
