The weep hole should never be plugged. It needs to be open or the coolant can possibly enter the crankcase through the rear camshaft seal and cause major damage.

I can do one in less than an hour

I know about the weep hole and that it must stay unplugged. I just put a little extra onto the mech seal itself, so hopefully the weep hole won't have anything to weep anymore. It seems to be working, no drips in the weeks following.

Has anyone tried using the 7807 7 volt regulator instead of the 7805 5 volt unit? They cost about 84 cents.
