Hi folks, over the past 3 months me and Donkey have been doing 40miles a day, work and back, rain or shine. The only fly in the ointment is the price of fuel, even though Donkey is returning over 50mpg its gettin beyond a joke  So i thought i would get a C90 but i cant say i relish the thought of going up hill and down dale with only a couple of horse power on tap.Plan 2 make the CX more economical,a 500 Bullet returns about 70-80mpg,so what would happen if a CX was fitted with a single carb :?: Bullet carbs are as cheap as dirt http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Enfield-Bulle ... 35ad03ff56 A home made manifold and Bobs your dads brother.I'm no expert in the dark art of carburation so any thoughts why this wont work will be gratefully recieved.
Regards Sean...........

I think it would be a lot of work for possibly no return. These are already a frugal machine when it comes to fuel.Remember also that a single carb could not be balanced correctly for the differences that will be inherent between the two cylinders and therefore may actually turn out to be worse on fuel.

If I was going to downsize for this I would go for the cheapest Honda 125cc for this,

Still got enough power for commuting and good fuel returns.

If you want to improve your fuel efficiency and are carrying a lot of weight, diet<grin>

PS
After Xmas I always cut down on grub so when the main riding season comes in I'm around a stone lighter.
