Well over time yes.I've been running them 3 years and they have no sign of wear and never need re-gapping so stay optimal.
Q:Do the bikes start better.
Well hard to tell as both my CX have correctly serviced carbs and will start on-the-button even with standard plugs.
Q:Do they give more power
I cannot prove it but there's definitely a feeling of more power and a growl to the engine that is not there with standard plugs and the bikes do really rip-it up going up hills and dales and pull like Turbo Charged Tractors even two up!!
Q:Do they give better economy
Yes.With standard plugs the best I got out of either of my CX was 58 mpg(UK gallon) with standard plugs.The best I got on that bike with Iridium plugs was 62 mpg(UK gallon).
There are alot of variables to this so it's never a really great test.
Q:Would I recommend them
Yes.Even if it was only because you can fit them and forget about buying anymore plugs for the bike possibly in it's lifetime and never need to gap them(Unless something went drastically wrong and you are not supposed to ever change the gap anyway)

Q:Would I go back to standard plugs
No.I keep my old standard ones as spares and cary a couple with me just incase in my underseat toobox.
New kid on the Block
There's an even newer kid on the block when it comes to spark plugs.They cost at the moment £18/$36 a plug but I ain't tellin' yet
