We did the 1st one ok,

Tony on the right drying first wet boot from the 1st crossing

But then,"Disaster" for me at the 2nd one,

Tony,Gaz and me(Picture taken by the guy in the small blue car across the way who has a holiday Barn in the farm we had just passed.Nice bloke came to help if needed).
My CX went over in the middle of that ford.Had to cut the engine.Gaz had to wade back and help me lift the bike.Got her started up after a few cranks as the carbs had flooded. There was green algae all over the stones and a mega couple of steps in the small slabs that Gaz had managed to avoid or knew about as he had done this road before the B*stard<grin>
Luckily no damage to my CX except it killed a plate in the battery which I found out later and I had a towel in my Back box so well all dried off. After we got my bike up and over ok we had to go back over and help Tony with his and held it whilst we crossed.
Tony just drying to dry his socks. After a good whine and even more laughs just up and over the hill we did not realize how close we were to one of the stops on the North Yorkshire Steam Railway stop at Grosmont so stopped and had a cup-of-tea from the Station buffet,

A great day out and considering I was riding with two modern 600s both the lads were quite impressed that my CX500 not only kept up but survived without a scratch
We finally ended up in Scarborough at a Bike friendly Cafe called the Oasis on the front and there was a lovely old Sunbeam there,
