R&R Clutch lever shaft bearings

Postby I'm going to GL » Mon Sep 22, 2008 8:41 pm

I want to powder coat a clutch cover and this requires that I remove and re-install the cluthc lever shaft support bearings.

I don't see how I should go about removing the inner support bearing without destroying it. I initially thought that I could make a simple bearing puller using threaded rod and washers etc, but the inner bearing race is shrouded by a smaller bore on the backside. I checked with my downloaded copy of the GL500 service manual and it does not mention removal of these bearings. So I wonder if you're expected to simply replace the cover if there is a problem with the shaft bearings.

Any ideas?

Thanks
