CX500 GL500 650 Global

I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction, I want to alter my CX500 a little while I have it torn down and change the seat and the rear fender. I think the seats on the CX are hideous and way too big, is there a seat from another bike that may fit without many modifications? My seat is in excellent shape so I hate to cut it up in case I want to go back to stock but I want a seat that is much smaller. Also I want to change out the rear fender with one that is a little bigger so I can paint it to match the body color. I see that the widest I can go is 7" but I am looking for people who have done these things and hopefully can show me some pictures so I can get an idea of what it will look like. Any help would be great!! I have seen Chopper Charles pics and I like his bike, but any other people done these mods?

But I suspect you are going to have to modify something but like you say I wouldn't ruin a good stock seat.Maybe get a crappy cheap one off Ebay?

Blindstich from that Chopper Charles forum has a really great post how he got a seat off a Harley to fit with very little modification. What he did looks really good imo.
