I might be a newbee to this form and my bike but I've had bikes for a # of years. Won't say how long as I do call myself oldman81. Just got a 81 CX500 and love it so far. But as with any old bikes it will need work and I'm sure I'll be asking A lot of questions.

Welcome.Between here,CC's and other forums there's not a lot we don't know about these bikes :)

They are one of the easiest and best set out bikes to work on IMHO and once setup are a joy to ride.Biggest single and cheap improvement is to change the Fork oil to Heavy 20w Fork oil.The difference in handling is like night-and-day.
