Dogbone risers

i am looking at changing out my handlebars to something that a little lower and sweeps back a bit more. one of the issues that i am looking at is to gain a larger diamiter handle bar, 1" but with the 7/8 that is required i am trying to find a dogbone that converts the 7/8 to 1". i know it would require whole new controls. i have been googling it but can not seem to find it. maybe it is nto a possibility, althogh i guess i could look at rabricating some sort of stepped handlebars that do the same thing. so long story short. if any one has a link to dogbone risers that step from 7/8 to 1" can you post a link.

Travis, any particular reason for going up to 1" diameter? You should be able to find anything that you need for 7/8" bars and keep your stock controls.

i find that my hands go numb more on the smaller bars. i know this will happen on any size, nature of the beast i guess, but i have ridden alot of my friends bikes with the larger bars and grips and it seems not to happen as often with the larger of the 2.

I suffer from VWF(Vibration White Finger).I too used to get the,"Tinglies" and numbness.I defeated these using a,"Cruise Control" which allows me to rest my Throttle hand like I can rest my Clutch hand whenever needed and the road conditions allow.Even a 10/15 second break every now and then really helps.

Once you get used to it it becomes second nature.I have them fitted to both my CX and would never ride without them now.
I was also, but never got round to it,fit some,"Gel" grips,

These or similar should help absorb vibrations.I tried Foam grips but couldn't wait to get them off as they were too vague and got water logged too easy.
Both these options would save you hacking and modding the bars.

i do like the idea of a cruise control type device, i am changing the bars reguardless if i can find a Dogbone that swithces size. i have quite a few mods i am planning this off season for the bike. i am looking ag going the chopper route and with all of the info and pics here and at charles' site i have quite a few ideas that i am looking at. hopefully i can pull it all off and be ready for next riding season when i start.

new fenders
bars
contols
seat
pegs
new shocks ( the 28yr old ones are bouncy even all the way up)
pipes
fluids
frame repaint after i clean some of the rust that is on it
some polishing
some undecided ideas

may be a little busier than i orignally thought i would be with it this winter
