shep,do you think diesel is as good as vinegar as a carb cleaner,as a dip.and would it melt o rings etc

I spotted the reference on CC's forum.I only know it's brilliant for releasing seized parts(Leave them to soak in it).I'll get some more myself and do a test on a spare pair of carbs and let you know over the week.
I don't think it will attack the o-rings just like Brake Carb cleaner doesn't.I see people post about it eating o-rings.Well I've been using it years and my take is that none of mine have been destroyed and if they did go they were already beyond any serviceability and virtually anything would have put the nail-in-the-coffin for that particular part.
Nearly all modern O-rings are made from a Viton or Nitrile compound and not the old Original rubber compounds and are very robust in my experience.Most common cause of failure is neglect.

strange 3 mechanics go for diesel and a tooth brush.
found liquid carb to day,,,wait for it 544 euros a gallon
bought some spray,im going to have to pull the carbs soon.
once again im in your debt,just hope one day i can repay
