I've been reading all along, (like on Robs Web Resource) not to use conventional coolant...and I see on your "CX Basics" web page this quote...
"Basic Car coolant works fine:50/50 mix with calcium free water like Collected rain water or distilled water is best.If you defrost your fridge or freezer melt and bottle the water. This is as good as distilled water from the shops and can be used for stopping up batteries and in Steam irons to stop furring.
"It has been said that using Advanced Silicate free coolant extends the life of the Synthetic rubber and carbon Mechanical seal.I doubt this"
So what the! What led you to believe this Shep? It's very interesting, because a friend,(mechanic somewhat) was looking over an old/new car I bought the other day,and he looked at the coolant and noted,,,"Good, you don't have the orange stuff"...I asked him why is that, and he said the orange stuff was notorious for eating gaskets up,and seals....I said, Huh! Which got me to thinking about my CX,,,then I see this, so help me out here Sheppola. Thanx-Rog
