Well it is a gamble and of course the Crank off Ebay may not have the same letter markings for the shells you have?







However it has been said that the difference between the shells is so small it may not matter and that the a thicker shell would work rather than a thinner one because of wear.Again this can only really be determined by a Professional IMHO or some one with very deep knowledge of this subject with the correct plastigauges etc.

OK. Thank you. On my current crank, you can feel the light grooves on it. So I'm assuming by the pics, that one on eBay is in a lot better shape

Was 2nd hand from the USA Ebay/Scrap dealer.It had no scores but was checked@ my local engineering company along with the rods before I built the engine

At the time the UK pound was strong so the crank cost me around £40 UK(Say $60) inc postage!There are a lot of much lower mileage and less abused parts over there.I have a pair of heads for another engine that I got from the USA for around the same money that have only done 18,000 according to the seller

That's a very pretty cx. I love the green. Ill keep you posted on what I find. I'm going to look for another crank because I know that reusing mine wouldn't last long before ruining a new set of shells

Could u look at that eBay posing for me that I posted a link of a couple posts back? It has really good pictures and I want your opinion as to whether that would be a good one to buy and try

I know you are looking for assurance but I cannot give that,especially from a photograph.What I can say is I would buy it knowing I'm taking calculated risk with the previous warnings in place

ok thanks, I realize i'm taking a risk with any of them. I was just asking if you could see anything obviously wrong with it since you know these motors and i'm just now learning them

When you fit the shells use this stuff to coat the bearing faces(Not the Crank pin side),

Thank you. And I'm going to put on a new set of rings. The cylinders look pretty nice from what I can see but should I have them honed anyway?

I would get them,"Glaze Busted" or do them yourself.
