Hello, I purchased a 1982 Cx500c last June, 39,000 kms in pretty clean shape. I have replaced the clutch...that was easy, and am looking to clean the carbs and replace fork seals. These bikes are a real gem, big enough, small enough and fun enough for those who could but don't. I had a Honda CB360T when I was 16 and always loved the cx500 but never got one till 30 years later, too bad I waited but worth it.
Thanks for all the great info so far.

Welcome. The fork seals aren't hard to do.Use the old one on top of the new one when fitting or get a piece of PVC plastic drain pipe of the correct diameter to press the new one in.It's easy to damage the new ones when fitting.
If you have fitted then before then no problem.Try and stick to a decent brand as there are some cheap crap ones out there.Honda or Pyramid is a good brand.

I have just done one for another owner so it's fresh in my mind.I also lube them to help them slide in with the 20w(Heavy) fork oil I use and recommend.

You may be able to get it locally from a Motorcycle shop.
