Hey guys, im excited to be a member here. Im 22 yrs old, from Austin, Tx and i recently acquired a 1979 cx500D. Love the thing, but the idle has been a pain in my ass, and i can't get the turn signals to work. I rebuilt the carbs and it didn't fix the problems so i came here, look forward to reading more.

Welcome.Don't forget Chopper Charle's forum.

http://choppercharles.com/cs/forums/

There may be a CX/GL owner near you who can help from that forum.I'm sure I've seen a couple of people on there from Fort Worth.

For now it's usually a bad throttle A or B cable, stuck butterfly or air leak in to the carbs. It can also be a stuck/grating throttle slide/piston.
