Hi list I'm a new GL owner from London, Ontario, Canada. I recentky bought a 1981 GL500. It has been in a barn since 1994. Shows 21,000 km on the clock. It's in need of TLC. Already bought new tires and have ordered a few rebuild kits for brake MC and caliper and vacuum petcock. I expect that I'll have to do fork seals as well. The carbs a very gummed up. So I'm working on the now. I'd like to get the bike running before I spend too much on it. I've always messed around with things mechanical since I took my Model A Ford apart in the late 60's...and put it back together again. I designed and built a racer for Solo II racing using a Honda Civic engine and tranny in the rear and my own front suspension. I have also turbocharged my 1973 Honda Civic, making up the required bits. Lately, I've been building recumbent bicycles and tricycles, hence the tag reclinedrelic. Now I'm looking forward to a nice running GL for some summertime touring. Mike |

I owned that car for almost 20 years and it was an everyday driver. I did a complete restoration on it and toured around the US a good bit. I also recently purchased a GL to do some touring on this summer. If I get up to Ontario I'll give you a holler. Steve |

Hi Mike! What part of Ontario? My son and I will be riding through Sarnia on our way up to the ferry at Tobermory. We're headed for our family camp on the St. Marys River near Desbarats, probably late June. |

Duh, I see London in your first post. Well, that's not far from Sarnia. Maybe we'll see you at the river! |
