CX500 GL500 650 Global

1980 CX500 Deluxe:

Its kind of odd, and at lower RPMs, almost gone with the choke on and cold, giving it a little more throttle smooths it right out.

Any idea's? Thought I'd get some before pulling everything apart.

Do the usual checks in the Carb section for things like carb boot leaks.As it smooths with the choke try making the mixture a little richer.What colour are the plugs after the engine has been ridden.You cannot check plug state on an engine that has just been started or cold.



This is usually a symptom of either a clogged low speed circuit in the carbs or float height/needle valve problem,

Tip:I take my plug spanner/wrench out with me and stop at a parking spot and take my plugs out from time to time just to check their colour.
