Hi all, today me and my son went on the local charity run, beautiful sunny day 1300 bikes, good company and my trusty old donkey :D She didn't miss a beat for the first 100 miles then pulling up a hill at about 70mph she went on to 1 cylinder :o I haven't had much time to investigate but its sparking at both plugs and the none firing side the plug is wet,i have also stuck my thumb down the plug hole and there is compression.Any suggestions where to look next are very welcome.Sean.

Problem solved :D :D :D :D Turned out to be the CDI box, just goes to show you can never have enough spares in the shed :D .I'm still puzzeled how there was a good spark at the plug :?: How does that work, seems to go against every thing i've been told in the past,is it just an electronic ignition phenominum :?: By the way is there a fix for the box of tricks or is it 3.2.1. in the bin. Thanks Sean......

I've had what seems to be good sparks at the plugs and still be a faulty CDI box.Just age I guess as most of them are over 25 years old. It's a male thing that we will hang on to parts hoping they will some how fix themselves<grin>.No they won't but I hate throwing things away.Worth keeping just in case you need the plugs on it.

Also this thread may interest you for the future to be able to fully upgrade and modernize the ignition system,
