CX500 GL500 650 Global

Well,i was hoping to be on the road this month but twas not to be.I got paid last Monday and was overdrawn by Thursday Heyho thats the way it goes,maybe next month

Keep plugging away at it, it will get there.

Well,all the pluggings done Its just a case of paying for the ,insurance mot and of course ROAD TAX

Well its only taken 6 months but finally today i'm back on a cx,well almost .Insurance sorted,so of i set on the maiden voyage to the testing station,she ran really well,i was worried about her starting to misfire higher up the rev range but she pulled like a train Straight through the mot,the tester was well impressed with the condition of her Like all old bikes theres always more to do,seat cover and some stainless fixing when funds allow.Regards Sean........

See, all that plugging away at it paid off. It's nice when you get the impressed approval from someone that sees hundreds of bikes a year isn't it.

Another CX'er back on the road - Congrats!

Thanks guys Its great to be back on the road and on a cx is a bonus I did have a spot of carb trouble yesterday,the lh carb kept flooding so i guessed the float wasn't seating propery so i tried to take the bowl of but of course the inner screw was rounded,well nothing else for it they would have to come off.When i got them off the lh carb was in a hell of a state,the butterfly was as rusty as an anchor ,as luck would have it i had a spare set of carbs that looked serviceable.When i took the bowls off one float was at or about 15.5mm but the other was about 18 This did not fill me with much confidence that they would work very well,you could tell that they had been apart and by the state of the float heights by someone who did'nt have alot of a clue what they were doing,don't get me wrong i'm no mechanic but after an hour of reading up on the carbs i set to work,the carb section on this forum is fantastic,even a kak handed fool like my self can understand it Anyway carbs cleaned and fiddled with on they went and to my complete suprise she fired straight up an ran like a good un Sorry to ramble on,Regards Sean...........
