Joined some time ago and still haven't made my presence known... But I digress. It's about the bike. Mine is a
1983 GL 650 I SilverWing Interstate. Bought it in '07 with 9K on the clock (now about to turn 20K). She still runs well, just needs some detailing. It sat for ?

? years before I discovered it

and scarfed it up. Seller put rubber on it and got it running, I rode it home (30 mi), and after the 10K I've added, I finally had to put a new rear tire under it. The old Dunlop still had some tread, but it was out of balance and cupping bad on the left side. Note: Raised white letters get shaved by the driveshaft casing. I went back to black. I've installed the Randakk's spin-on oil filter conversion to make changes easier, replaced the original headlamp with a Cibie Z-beam, got a new rear fender to replace the broken one, and have been picking up spare replacement parts when I can find them, just to be ready. Ride it! Don't hide it! This 'wing sails year round. Not many of us twisted twins out there, but a group like this helps a lot.
