hello Everybody. Pulled Cx500 Custom out of Scrapyard for £180. Got it running after 6 years off road. Needs respray and cosmetic work but got it through Mot and now on road. Just 1 big problem when warm won't pull through 4500rpm but back throttle off to about 1/4 and will rev to redline. On the road when cold no probs and up to 4500rpm when warm no probs. I can usually back off throttle 1/4 and engine will creep up to 5500 and then i can open up again but not always. If i have been running for a distance of say 10-30 miles at steady 70-75mph i change down to say stop at junction it will not go above 4500 rpm Done carbs/Jets Coils/CDI and Exhaust (now Running a Nexus on 78 and 112 Jets) Checked voltages of 84white and 95Blue on stator checks. Could i still have stator probs? Any other Ideas appreciated. Regards Ken Naunton

Welcome :)

Even spark plug caps or coils can cause the engine to stop around those speeds,

I suspect my left coil has now started to go so I've ordered one earlier this week from the same place I got the last one,

Sorry Dude, probably stator. Check carbs first.
