diesel oil? makes sense, if it can keep a fluid bearing running under the force of diesel combustion then a 500cc petrol v twin is well protected! know not to put Slick 50 in it, it has a protected by Slick 50 sticker on the toolbox so it's had it in before, so that's why my clutch has a vague bite point! |

Just to clarify it's the oil used in diesel car engines, not diesel oil.It has a much higher sheer factor than car oil hence can take more abuse. It's definitely seems to make for a smooth gear box Loads of UK bikers I know swear by it and I've been running it for over 3 years with no problems. |

Hey Shep, good news, dropped oil, no copper flecks at all, changed the tacho cable and made some stainless indicator mounts. Did the valve clearances, erred on the loose side as the tiny, tiny bit of play in the rockers gives a false reading so it still taps a little but not badly. one of the exhaust valves on the left cylinder was a bit tight on the clearance so glad i sorted that! The previous owner changed the oil filter within the last 1000 miles so the next oil change i do in 2000 miles it will have a 20W50 flush and a new filter. starts like a dream now and been taking lessons and test within next month! |
