Howdy all from Alberta, Canada.
Just purchased :D a 79 CX 500 C with according to PO 5400 kilometers, was parked for some years.
He buys little gems, in his words, and rebuilds them top to bottom.
So as a newbie I have a question already.

Having a new cam chain, gear, tensioner, the PO said it should be adjusted after 100-200km, as the chain will
seat and stretch a bit. Sounds fair, how do I ensure I have the left cylinder @ TDC on compression?

Is taking the cylinder head cover off, the only way? Or is the large viewing port hole by the adjustment bolt able to show this?

Awesome forum here and really appreciate any info for this beauty of a bike.

Regards,
Rick
