Liked the CX/GL bikes since they were new, but couldn't afford new bikes back then so I made due with a nasty, abused Yamaha XS650 and a bit later a Honda 360 twin. Didn't keep either bike long, and gave up on bikes for a couple of decades. Now that I'm riding again, nobody makes new bikes that I really like--so even if I wasn't a cheapskate, I'd still be buying vintage. I recently got my motorcycle license, and bought another pair of bikes--an 82 Yamaha XJ 750 Seca as a project, and a running 81 CX500 Custom to ride. If all goes well, the two bikes will be reversed in a few months, I'll be riding the Yamaha and restoring the CX. |
